SA bands to battle it out

The finale of the 14th annual RBF Challenge takes place on Sunday, December 5 at Tanz Café in Fourways starting at 15:00.
One band on the day wins tens days recording time at Radio Broadcast Facilities (RBF), the recording studios at the SABC as well as R40 000 worth of musical equipment courtesy of Marshall Music.
Each band on the day performs three songs, a panel of judges score them and for the first time crowd voting on the day will also play a part in assisting the judges in determining the winning band on the days.

The first band is on stage at 15:00 and the show will end just after 20:00.

The competition

The RBF Challenge – creating platforms for bands to further musical careers – is the longest running event of its kind in SA. Over the years bands that have participated in this event include: the Parlotones, the Blk Jacks, Seether (Saron Gas), Prime Circle, 340 ml, Freshly Ground, the Finkelsteins, Evolver, Plush, Taxi Violence, First Project, Cutting Jade, Tweak and Pestroy.
