The DJ Sbu vs. DJ Hypnosis Saga

In 2009, popular DJ and TV presenter Sbusiso "Sbu" Leope allegedly approached Pretoria record producer  and DJ, Osman “DJ Hypnosis” Mkhondo, asking to feature three of Mkhondo's tracks on his third album, Y-Lens Volume 3. DJ Hypnosis was taken by the idea and gave a selection of his work to the TS Record boss, who in return promised to choose three tracks, draft a contract and pay production costs for the tracks.

Two years later, the two are involved in a serious legal battle, with DJ Hypnosis accusing DJ Sbu of “ripping him off and breaching the Copyright Act.”
