What we have learned so far in the competition.

We have learned allot about ourselves and the Band as a whole, but to summarize we have three main points. Firstly marketing and how important it is and that the Band needs to function as a business. Secondly how important each member is and what a vital role that person plays in taking the band to the next level and also what a large role a Band Manager plays in keeping the Band focused on their goals. Thirdly having the right connections and knowing the right people is a huge advantage in getting to where you want to be. In general we are very happy with our progress and how far we have come in the Durex because the first round was only the second gig as the newly formed Centrefolds, with new drummer and rhythm guitarist joining the band just a few weeks before Durex started. Further we hope to finish this competition at the top , not just to win prizes etc. but because we believe we are a great band and want to share our music with as many people as possible and we hope that this would be a stepping stone to that goal.

Future Plans

We are busy negotiating studio time at a top recording studio in S.A and we are hoping to release our EP around 1 November 2011. At this time we are focused on the Durex but future plans include large festivals and venues in Joburg and Potch as we now mainly focus on Pretoria. We believe we will make a big impact very soon as our popularity is growing at an exponential rate and we are fuelling the fire as much as we can.  We believe we have a great product and the support from our fans have proven this.

The Ripped Crew hosting "BATTLE OF THE BANDS"

    The Ripped Crew
    "BATTLE OF THE BANDS"

The Ripped Crew hosting this Battle mainly for extra exposure to the Bands,  So far during the Battle we have come upon great Bands that needs to get out there and be heard they are really very good and do not always have the necessary funds to promote themselves as they should, this is the reason why I am seeking for people like you to assist us in the means of exposure. My moto to all Band ** Let Your Music Be Heard **

We still need more band to enter and are desperately looking for sponsors. The sponsorship does not have to consist of money it can be in any form eg. Equipment, vouchers, hampers anything that can help the Bands.

Region 1 is almost over and dun for it did not go as well as I expected and I need to up my marketing and get more fans at the Battle, that is the main reason I need all the assistance I can get.

We need, preferably unsigned / new and upcoming bands to enter this battle.

The Battle will have 4 regions (legs) the winner of each region will then represent the venue at the East Rand Battle Finals. Each venue will sponsor the selected Band.

    Regions
    1 Edenvale
    2 Kempton Park
    3 Germiston/Alberton
    4 Boksburg/Benoni/Brakpan
Each Region will be ongoing for 3 Months at a selected Venue.

What our aim is at the East Rand finals - This will be a Red Carpet Event with invites to all music celebs Full exposure of the event through mags like Peoples Magazine and news paper Beeld and your mag a live feature of the event by MK, the winning band to receive a full page interview from the magazines. At this said event the Winning  band will also stand a change to receive a record deal with Arend productions the owner/representative from Arend productions will  be there to Judge the battle (Arend Production’s decision is final).
